Sophia Arnold joins Class of 2026 Pronghorn Volleyball
Gillette College Volleyball Signs Sophia Arnold
Gillette, WY – The Gillette College volleyball program is excited to announce the signing of Sophia Arnold from Green River High School.
Arnold, a 5'11" middle blocker, brings an impressive résumé both on and off the court. She has earned back-to-back 4A All-State honors in 2024 and 2025, along with consecutive All-Conference selections during those same seasons. Highlighting her senior campaign, Arnold was named the 4A West Defensive Player of the Year in 2026, solidifying her reputation as one of the top defensive presences in the state. She finished her high school career with 533 kills and 214 blocks.
In addition to her athletic success, Arnold is a member of the National Honor Society, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in the classroom as well.
"I felt like Gillette College was the right place for me," said Arnold. "During my visit, it just felt right. The atmosphere was positive and comfortable—somewhere I could see myself being every day. The team and coaches were super welcoming, and that made a big difference because I knew I would be supported both on and off the court."
"We are very excited to add Sophia to our program," said Head Coach Chase Soennichsen. "She is a strong presence at the net and brings a high level of defensive intensity. Sophia competes at a high level and has the work ethic and character that fit perfectly with our program."
Arnold's ability to impact the game defensively, combined with her size and athleticism, will make her a valuable addition to the Pronghorns as they continue to build for the future.
