Gillette College Rodeo has added another talented and proven competitor to its women's team with the signing of Tiersyn Grubb of Spearfish, South Dakota.
Grubb, a student at Spearfish High School, brings an impressive rodeo résumé built on years of consistency and success. Her accomplishments include being named Junior High Rookie of the Year in 2020, Junior High All-Around Cowgirl in 2021, and qualifying three times for the Junior High National Finals. She was also crowned the National Little Britches Little Wrangle World Champion Barrel Racer and has been a multiple-time top-10 world finisher in barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying. Most recently, she earned Cinch Breakaway Champion honors and was named the 2025 NCRA Rookie of the Year.
Grubb competes in breakaway roping, goat tying, barrel racing, and team roping, giving Gillette College another versatile athlete with the ability to contribute in several areas.
She also comes from a family with strong ties to the Gillette College Rodeo program, as she is the younger sister of standout Pronghorn athlete Brylee Grubb. With both sisters set to rodeo for Gillette College next fall, the Grubb family name will continue to make an impact in grey vests.
"We're really excited to add Tiersyn to this program," said Gillette College Head Coach Casey Rae Sellers. "She's had success for a long time, and she's proven herself in a lot of different arenas. What makes this especially fun is getting to have both Grubb girls here together. Brylee has already meant so much to this program, and we're excited to welcome Tiersyn and see the two of them competing for Gillette College at the same time."
In the classroom, Grubb has been equally steady and accomplished. She has earned the Academic Letter Award all four years of high school, been on the Advanced Honor Roll for four years, and carries a 3.837 unweighted GPA and a 3.887 weighted GPA. She plans to major in agriculture business at Gillette College.
Outside of rodeo, Grubb has also competed in basketball, helping her team qualify for state twice and finish eighth and fifth in the state. She also served as a JV Basketball Captain and earned the WE WILL Award in Spartan Basketball in 2022.
Grubb said Gillette College stood out because of the people, the atmosphere, and the culture surrounding the program.
"I chose Gillette College because of the positive culture of the rodeo team and coaches, the amazing facilities, the team is frequently at the top of the region, and they are a close-knit group," Grubb said. "I like the smaller atmosphere for classes and rodeo both."
The daughter of Stephanie and Jason Grubb, Tiersyn was introduced to rodeo by her parents and has turned that early start into a decorated career filled with success across multiple levels of competition.
With a winning background, strong academics, and the opportunity to join her sister in the Pronghorn program, Grubb adds another exciting piece to the future of Gillette College Rodeo.
