Burress Signs with Gillette College Rodeo
Gillette College Rodeo is excited to announce the signing of Sage Burress, a team roper from Isabel, South Dakota.
Burress, a 2024 graduate of Western Christian Academy, will transfer to Gillette College from Ranger College and join the Pronghorns with a strong background in the heading. He was the 2025 SDRA and NRCA Year-End Champion Header and a 2025 Badlands Circuit Finals qualifier in the heading.
Sage was introduced to rodeo by his parents, who helped him get started at a young age. He is a member of the PRCA, NRCA, SDRA, NDRA, and NIRA, and has continued to build a strong competitive resume in the team roping.
In the classroom, Burress carries a 3.7 GPA and plans to major in Business.
When asked why he chose Gillette College, Burress said, "I chose to transfer to Gillette College because of the rodeo program and the amazing athletes that have come out of there. I also believe that Gillette has one of the best facilities with amazing cattle year-round."
Gillette College Head Rodeo Coach Casey Sellers said Burress is a strong addition to the Pronghorn roster.
"We are excited to add Sage to Gillette College Rodeo," Sellers said. "He brings experience, maturity, and a proven ability to win. He has had a great year in the heading, and I think he will be a really good fit for our team and the direction we are headed. It will be fun to watch him at the pro rodeos this summer and get him in a grey vest to compete this fall!"
Burress will join the Pronghorns in the fall of 2026.
