Gillette College Announces the Signing of Sophia Morón
Gillette, WY – Gillette College is pleased to announce the signing of guard Sophia Morón, a talented player hailing from Chandler, Arizona. Morón, who previously played at Vermilion Community College in Minnesota, will join the Pronghorns for the upcoming basketball season.
Sophia Morón is a distinguished graduate of Valley Christian High School in Arizona, where she showcased her leadership skills as the captain of the girls' basketball team. During her high school career, Morón led her team to the second round of the state playoffs in both her junior and senior years. Morón also played with club teams AZ Fire and AZ Swish. A versatile player capable of excelling at both point guard and shooting guard positions, she earned accolades as a 2nd Team North Division selection and a 2nd Team MCAC All-Conference choice during her freshman year at Vermilion Community College.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Morón is an academic standout, graduating at the top of her class with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her dedication to academia is apparent as she participated in the varsity choir and served on the choir council, demonstrating her commitment to both her studies and extracurricular activities.

"Her talent on the court, combined with her academic discipline, will make her a vital addition to our program.
