Gillette College Announces Signing of Spain’s Agatha Matilla Alves
Gillette, WY — January 9, 2026 — The Gillette College women's basketball program is excited to announce the signing of Agatha Matilla Alves, a 5'10" guard from Alcorcón, Madrid, Spain.
Agatha brings a high basketball IQ, strong feel for pace, and the ability to score within the flow of the game. Developed in Spain's competitive basketball system, she was consistently selected for Madrid Regional Team development camps from U8 through U15 and gained valuable experience competing at both regional and national levels. Her team achievements include a Madrid Championship, a second-place finish in Madrid, and a third-place result in the Madrid Copa de la Reina, along with top seven finishes at the Spanish National Championships. She also helped lead her team to a Lymphoma Foundation Tournament championship in 2023 and is a two-time MLS Sports Tournament Champion.
Alongside her athletic success, Agatha has shown strong academic commitment, maintained a 3.3 GPA and earned recognition for her consistent performance with an average grade of 8.3 out of 10.
