Gillette College Signs Australian Guard Abbey McGregor
Gillette, WY — February 2026 — The Gillette College women's basketball program is proud to announce the signing of Abbey McGregor, a 5'9 guard from Raworth, New South Wales, Australia.
McGregor joins the Pronghorns from All Saints College Maitland, where she built a reputation as a strong, physical guard and respected leader. Known for her toughness, scoring ability, and presence on both ends of the floor, she averaged 22 points per game in her final junior representative season while competing against top regional talent.
Abbey brings an extensive résumé of athletic and leadership accomplishments. She has represented Basketball NSW at the country level since 2021 and served as captain of the NSW Country U16 Women's Team. A longtime member of the Maitland Mustangs program, she progressed to compete in NBL1 at just 16 years old. Her honors include NEJL Grand Final MVP, Junior Representative Player Contribution Award, and multiple gold medals in state competition.
Off the court, McGregor has excelled academically and within her school community. She served as All Saints College School Captain (2025) and earned numerous distinctions, including Academic Excellence Award, the Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP Community Recognition Award, and All Saints College Person of the Year. She plans to pursue Health Science (Occupational Therapy) while at Gillette College.
McGregor shared why she chose Gillette College:
"I chose Gillette College because of its strong sense of community and the support it offers both on and off the court. From my first conversations with Coach Lewis and Coach Lou, it was clear that Gillette values its students as people. Having access to dedicated coaches, quality facilities, and academic support makes Gillette the ideal place for me to grow and prepare for my future goals."
Gillette College is excited to welcome Abbey McGregor to the Pronghorn family and looks forward to the leadership, competitiveness, and experience she will bring to the program.
