Tamar Callender signs with Gillette College Pronghorns
Gillette, WY — May 2026 — The Gillette College women's basketball program is excited to announce the signing of Tamar Callender, a 5'8" guard from Caldwell, Idaho, who transfers to Gillette College from Olive-Harvey College.
Callender brings versatility, competitiveness, and strong two-sport athleticism to the Pronghorns. At Caldwell Senior High School, she earned Second Team All-Conference honors and was selected to compete in the 2025 Idaho Annual All-Star Game for the Metro All-Star Team.
Known for her toughness, defense, and ability to facilitate, Tamar finished her senior season with 91 rebounds, 38 steals, and 23 assists, consistently contributing on both ends of the floor. Her energy, and defensive effort helped make her a key piece for Caldwell throughout her high school career.
In addition to basketball, Tamar excelled in volleyball, earning First Team All-Conference honors in consecutive seasons.
Off the court, Callender has demonstrated a strong commitment to academics. She was a member of the National Honor Society and earned several academic recognitions, including the 2025 Warren "Moke" Strong Memorial Scholarship, the 2025 Dorothy L. Kidd Scholarship, and the Outstanding Individual Scholastic Award. She plans to pursue a degree in Business at Gillette College.

The team culture felt like a family, and I could really see myself growing there both as a player and as a person. I also felt that Gillette College would push me to become the best version of myself on and off the court."
