New Era Between the Posts: Gillette Women's Soccer Goalkeepers Ready to Compete in 2026
As Gillette College Women's Soccer prepares for the 2026 season, one of the most intriguing position battles on the roster will take place between the posts.
For the first time in several years, the Pronghorns will feature an entirely new goalkeeping unit, with three talented freshmen arriving on campus ready to compete for the starting role. While all three bring different experiences and backgrounds, they share common traits that are essential to success in goal: reliability, leadership, and a competitive drive to improve every day.
The battle for the starting position promises to be one of the most competitive storylines throughout preseason camp.
Harlie Rommel – Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Harlie Rommel arrives at Gillette College following an outstanding career at Jackson Hole High School. A key figure in helping lead the Broncs to the 2026 Wyoming State Championship, Rommel earned All-State honors and established herself as one of Wyoming's top goalkeepers.
Her experience playing for Wyoming 307 Select has further developed her shot-stopping ability, command of the penalty area, and confidence in possession. Rommel's championship experience and ability to perform under pressure make her a strong contender as she transitions to the college game.
"Harlie has proven she can compete at a high level and lead a team through important moments," said Head Coach Anthony Longo. "Her experience winning a state championship and earning All-State recognition speaks to the consistency she brings to the position."
Brooklyn Robertson – Shelley, Idaho
Coming from Shelley High School in Idaho, Brooklyn Robertson brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Pronghorn goalkeeper room.
A four-year starter for the Russets, Robertson has spent years serving as the last line of defense while developing into a vocal leader on the field. She helped guide her team to a State Tournament appearance in 2022 and earned All-Conference recognition during her high school career.
In addition to her success at the high school level, Robertson competed with CGA Academy, where she faced strong competition and continued to refine the technical aspects of her game.
"Brooklyn's experience stands out immediately," Longo said. "Any goalkeeper who starts for four years at the varsity level understands what it takes to organize a defense and handle pressure situations. Her leadership qualities are going to be valuable for our team."
Tera Boden – Buffalo, Wyoming
Another talented Wyoming product, Tera Boden joins the Pronghorns after a successful career at Buffalo High School.
Boden helped lead Buffalo to a Wyoming State Tournament appearance and established herself as a dependable presence in goal. Known for her work ethic and willingness to compete, she arrives at Gillette eager to continue her development at the collegiate level.
"Tera is the type of goalkeeper who shows up every day ready to work," Longo said. "She has a great attitude, competes hard, and has already demonstrated the reliability you want from someone playing such an important position."
Competition Creates Opportunity
With three freshmen entering the program together, the goalkeeper position will be one of the most competitive battles throughout preseason training. Each goalkeeper brings unique strengths and valuable experience, giving the coaching staff multiple options as the season approaches.
More importantly, all three possess the qualities necessary to anchor the Pronghorn defense: confidence, communication, composure, and leadership.
As Gillette College looks to build on last season's 10-win campaign and second consecutive postseason appearance, the goalkeeper group will play a critical role in the team's success. Whether it's making game-saving stops, organizing the back line, or providing leadership in key moments, the competition between Rommel, Robertson, and Boden is expected to elevate the entire program.
One thing is certain: the future of Gillette College goalkeeping is in good hands.
