Firepower Up Front: Gillette College Women's Soccer Looks to Build on Offensive Success in 2026

After finishing the 2025 season with a 10-7 record and a second consecutive postseason appearance, the Pronghorns return one of the most dangerous goal scorers in Region IX while adding an exciting group of newcomers eager to make an immediate impact.

The forward group will be built around a simple philosophy: develop a goalscorer's mentality, create chances, and finish opportunities when they come. With a mix of proven production and emerging talent, Gillette's attacking unit has the potential to be one of the most dynamic groups in the region.

Wells Returns as One of Region IX's Top Scorers

Leading the attack is sophomore standout Lexi Wells from Pocatello, Idaho.

Wells put together one of the most impressive offensive seasons in program history during 2025, earning First Team All-Region honors after scoring 19 goals and adding four assists. Her ability to find space, create opportunities, and consistently finish in front of goal made her one of the most feared attackers in Region IX.

Whether stretching defenses with her pace, attacking crosses in the box, or creating her own opportunities, Wells demonstrated a complete scoring skill set throughout her freshman campaign.

"Lexi had an outstanding season last year, but what makes her special is her mentality," said Head Coach Anthony Longo. "She wants to score goals, she works hard every day, and she's constantly looking for ways to improve. She's the type of player who can change a game at any moment."

As opposing teams focus more attention on slowing Wells down, her leadership and experience will be invaluable for a young but talented attacking group.

Newcomers Bring Excitement and Depth

While Wells provides a proven offensive threat, the incoming class gives the Pronghorns a collection of talented players capable of contributing immediately.

Mia Rosenvall arrives from Skyridge High School and La Roca FC in Utah. A natural attacker with a strong eye for goal, Rosenvall brings technical ability, creativity, and a relentless work ethic. Her experience competing at a high club level should help her transition quickly to the college game.

Elizabeth Brown joins the program from Widefield High School and Colorado Pride FC. Brown possesses the athleticism and attacking instincts needed to create problems for opposing defenses. Her ability to make dangerous runs and challenge defenders one-on-one adds another weapon to the Pronghorn attack.

Shelley, Idaho native Haven Ivins enters the program after a successful career at Shelley High School. Known for her competitiveness and determination, Ivins brings a hard-working mentality and a willingness to battle for every opportunity in front of goal.

The Pronghorns also welcome two local standouts who are familiar with the expectations of Gillette soccer.

Macchiah Adsit arrives from Campbell County High School and Gillette Edge FC. A talented attacking player with strong technical ability, Adsit has developed through the local soccer community and now has the opportunity to continue her career close to home.

Joining her is fellow Campbell County High School and Gillette Edge FC product Paityn Wieweck. Wieweck's work ethic, determination, and attacking mentality have made her one of the area's top players. Her familiarity with the local soccer landscape and commitment to improving should make her a valuable addition to the program.

Creating a Goalscorer's Mentality

The emphasis for the forward group throughout preseason and the regular season will be developing a consistent goalscorer's mentality.

While talent is important, successful attackers must possess confidence, composure, and a willingness to take responsibility in critical moments. The coaching staff believes this group has the mentality needed to produce goals and create opportunities throughout the season.

"We want our forwards to be aggressive, confident, and relentless," Longo said. "The best goal scorers don't wait for chances to happen—they create them. We have a group that is talented, hardworking, and hungry to make an impact."

High Expectations for 2026

With Wells returning after a record-setting freshman season and a talented incoming class adding depth and competition, the Pronghorns have assembled a forward group capable of producing goals in a variety of ways.

Whether through individual brilliance, combination play, or relentless pressure on opposing defenses, the attacking unit will be expected to play a major role in Gillette's pursuit of another postseason appearance.

The pieces are in place for an exciting season. Now the challenge is simple: continue creating chances, finish opportunities, and keep finding the back of the net.

If this group can do that consistently, the Pronghorns could field one of the most dangerous attacks in Region IX during the 2026 season.
