Gillette College Volleyball Wraps Up Preseason 14-1, Eyes Conference Play
The Gillette College volleyball team closed out an impressive preseason with a 14-1 record, building momentum and confidence heading into conference play later this month.
Offensively, the Pronghorns were powered by standout hitters Mackenzie King and Payge Riedesel, who combined for 140 kills during the preseason. Setting up the attack, Tatum Gardner and Chloe Murray directed the offense with precision, totaling 499 assists between them.
Defensively, the team was anchored by the efforts of Paige Rose and freshman Talen Yardley, who together tallied 154 digs and set the tone in the back row. Strong contributions from both freshmen and sophomores have added depth across the lineup, showcasing the team's balance and potential for growth as the season continues.
Head Coach Chase Soennichsen praised the team's effort and focus throughout preseason play. "We've seen great strides in our chemistry and execution. The younger players are stepping up and our returners are setting the standard. We're excited to carry this momentum into conference play," Soennichsen said.
The Pronghorns open conference action on Friday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m. when they host Central Wyoming College.
